I love this color combination and I love how elegant it looks even if I only have 2 colors. This type of elegance is classic. I am a big fan of classic style. My all time fashion icons are Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. They are classic beauties and their fashion sense amazes me. I watched Audrey Hepburn movie collections this year because it was a Christmas present that my friend Crisly gave to me. The very first movie I watched is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I was awed and wowed with her style. Her clothes were mostly black and white, but I was impressed with her love of pearl accessories that accentuates her style. I watched all 3 movies and I was wishing to have those styles back. Our world keeps on evolving; fashion is like a cycle, if a particular style is gone, it will absolutely be back after a few decades. Crossing my fingers to that.

I, being an advocate for breast cancer awareness attended the most anticipated Queen by Cary Santiago event. It is a Pre-pageant Fashion Show, featuring the Collections of FINC Designers as part of the Think Pink, breast cancer awareness campaign. All Cebu fashion designers showcased their masterpiece by creating the best gown, colored pink for this event. Being a fashion blogger allowed me to have the privilege to sit in the front for me to get a clearer view and a nice shot for the gowns that was presented.

The show started by an opening number of contestants for the Queen of Cebu. They are the well endowed gay goddesses of Cebu, that are too pretty, real women’s will be intimidated. I mean, you wouldn’t believe it but they are like dolls come to life. Lol. After the opening number, the last year Queen of Cebu winners made their walk. They are still as stunning as before.

Since this is a breast cancer awareness campaign, there was also a talk about breast cancer early detection and prevention by the I Can Serve Foundation. We are all encouraged to be alert with the signs and symptoms since there has been an increase in the statistics of people who are diagnosed with breast cancer.

For the first part of the fashion show, the I can Serve Foundation breast cancer survivors were the first to come out with their lovely gown created by the fashion geniuses. Kudos to these strong women’s for not giving up the fight for breast cancer.

This time the beautiful Queen of Cebu contestants graced the stage with their beautiful gowns.

And the winners are Miss Japan wearing the gown of Lord Maturan and Lordgette Hong wearing the creation of Roger Salazar. Miss Japan was my bet because I really like her gown. I hope Lord Maturan will let me borrow this gown for my cousin’s wedding. Lol.

It was a fun night and I regret not wearing pink for this event, but nevertheless, I am still happy wearing my ‘Abandon’ body hugging mini dress.

I am so honored to have the opportunity to sit next to Cary Santiago, the star of the night. Without him, this event will not be possible. It is great to know a very successful person yet still very humble and has kept his feet on the ground. Thank you and I salute you for a job well done!

I am so in love!! I am in love with life. I love how my fate twisted. I am a perfect picture of a happy and contented woman.  If I am going to become a writer, I will write my own story. At a young age I’ve struggled with so much insecurities and unhappiness. I felt like I am not good enough with anything, that whatever I do, I am bound to fail. That no one can appreciate me because I am just nobody. How many girls have suffered insecurity? I guess we all did, but I’ve suffered for it for years. For months of soul-searching I unleashed all insecurities, I let it all go. I learned to love what I have. That I do not need to have a white skin to be called pretty, that I do not need to be tall to be called stunning and that I do not need to be voluptuous to be called sexy. It takes a lot of effort in loving yourself by how god created you. I stopped using whitening soap and lotion and all other beauty regimens that can only give you such beauty momentarily. I went for moisturizers to hydrate my skin, water, proper diet and exercise. I kept on doing that, like a routine, then suddenly, I felt good and comfortable with my own skin. I’ve realized that there is nothing wrong with me. That if there is something wrong, that is because of what I think. It is my advocacy to raise awareness on natural beauty, for girls to think that we are all made beautiful by god. There is no single person with the same face because god took the time to create us uniquely.

Ma Vie is Rose is a French word that means My Life in Pink. This color symbolizes femininity, women, and even breast cancer. This blog is a tribute to raise breast cancer awareness. There have been campaigns to raise awareness with this disease. I was supposed to join the pink run, but I was not able to register since I am too reluctant because, I did not prepare for the run. This awareness does not only focus on the disease but to the signs and preventions as well.

My dress shows how light and happy I am. This is one of my fabulous dresses. It is so feminine and so delicate. The details are perfect, from silhouette to the ribbon to the ruffled shoulder. Pairing this dress with red belt and bag only added sophistication and class. Pink and red is not a bad combination, they even complement each other. These are the colors that I love combining.
