Sun Life of Philippines Inc. continued its effort in lining up activities on the highly-anticipated Ironman 70.3 triathlon race happened last August 2, 2015 here in Cebu.
“Sun Life encourages every Filipino to live free and pursue their passions, and this is definitely possible if they can achieve the balance between wealth and health. Ironman 70.3 is a great venue to highlight this message,” said Sun Life Chief Marketing Officer Mylene Lopa.
Sun life prepared several activities at Shangri-La Mactan Hotel where the race started and ended. That includes Sun Life Wellness Studio, a place for relaxation for everyone amid the hectic preparations for the race. Healthy smoothies and massages was available for free at Mactan Ballroom foyer. Zumba sessions was also conducted by premier dance instructor Jill Ngo.
Aside from promoting physical fitness, Sun Life also conducted financial wellness during the event where in attendees learned about the company’s different financial health protection products, consulted with financial advisors and played fun games.
Sun Life was represented by Sun Life Tri Team which was led by the company’s executives together with Brand Ambassador Piolo Pascual.
The medal for Ironman 70.3 was designed by another Sun Life Brand Ambassador, multi-awarded designer Kenneth Cobonpue.
Sun Life President and CEO Riza Mantaring, a seasoned marathoner, was the designated runner for the mixed relay team. With her in the teams are Toots Malapad as the swimmer and Gerald Custodia as the biker.
One of the two all-male teams consists of Sun Life Chief Investments Officer Michael Enriquez for Bike, Jan Michael Chiu for swim and Don Gutierrez for run.
Piolo belonged to the second all-male team as the biker. Racing with him are Larry Medenilla as the swimmer and Toniel Ty as the runner.
“Succeeding in any endeavor like sports, design, or even finances takes a great amount of discipline and commitment. We hope that the Sun Life Tri Team can be an inspiration to those working towards reaching their goals and achieving their own definition of freedom,’ Lopa said.
