We are now on the month of December which means we are already on the most wonderful time of the year. This is the month when wonderful things happen such a family members from abroad will be coming home to spend the holiday season with us, I will go on shopping for presents for my god children (yes, I have a lot of them), and finally decorating the Christmas tree. I remembered when I was a child, this is the month that I always look forward to because mom will give us a Christmas socks full of goodies and we will go to the mall to see Santa because he will give us candies. We also have a small Christmas tree that I helped my mother decorate, it looks really tall, but when I started growing up I realized I am taller than our Christmas tree.
Last November 28, I attended the Christmas in the Sky event of Waterfront Hotel and Casino Mactan featuring the lighting of the Christmas tree. I was so happy I was able to attend this event because I love everything about Christmas. I love seeing tall and well decorated Christmas trees and I am always fascinated looking at them.
The event started with the opening message by the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino’s Manager Rex Benhur Caballes. He explained that the reason why it was called Christmas in the Sky is because Waterfront Mactan is an Airport Hotel wherein guests from their long flight arrive in Waterfront for a good and relaxing stay.
Visitors were also serenade by the amazing and talented Marigondon Ukelele Ensemble mentored by Mr. Clive Cane. All my favorite Christmas song was played and it sounds so wonderful listening to it played in Ukelele.
The lighting of the Christmas tree was led by Rex Benhur Caballes, Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino’s Manager, Mr. Andrew Acquaah-Harrison of GMR- Megawide’s GM, Honorable Paz Radaza and Engr. Paul Villarete, MCIAA General Manager.
A ballet presentation was made by the graceful Ballet Dancers from the Ballet Center of Cebu.
The other guests that were present during the event were, Mr. Adrian Ding, CEO of Maximum Impact Philippines, Ms. Shelly Arciaga-Ding, Sales Manager of Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino, Honorable Queenie Ammann, Retired Colonel & Chief for Visayas of the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime- Visayas Field Office, Frank Dalawampu and Mr. Hembler Mendoza of DOT Lapu-Lapu City.
Me and the Lapu-Lapu’s City Honorable Mayor Paz Radaza.
The party will not end without the sumptuous treat from Waterfront Hotel to their guests and visitors.
Thanks to Chef MJ, Pastry Chef of Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino for the delicious pastries we devoured.
I would also like to thank Hanski Garcia of Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino for having me on this event.
The obligatory photo after each event, now with the Christmas tree behind me.
